The headers meanings are as follows:

  • Load Cap - Total Capacity in weight of the ship (both weapons and cargo capacity)
  • Cargo Cap - Total units of Cargo the ship can hold (will reduce if you have alot of weapons armed)
  • Passenger Cap - Total number of people that can ride on the ship.
  • Max Speed - The maximum speed of the ship (will drop as the ship becomes under load with cargo or weapons)
  • Total Armor - The total Armor of the ship, to be sunk, armor needs to be reduced to 0 on two sides, and then the hull integrity must also reach 0.
  • Weapons - Weapons that can be equipped on the ships various sides (Front/Starboard/Port/Rear)
  • Epic Cost - Currently no ships exist in Duris that cost epic points.
  • Cost - The amount in Platinum you will need to pay the shipbuilder to commission that specific type of ship.

The first 7 ships are "Cargo" ships, meaning you can buy cargo at docks that sell it, and then sail to other docks to sell the cargo a a profit. The further away one dock is from another generally dictates the amount of profit you'll make on your cargo.

The last 4 ships are "Warships", meaning - they are not designed to carry cargo, but are designed for fighting other ships or pirates on the seas.

As a beginner, a Ketch is a good ship to start cargoing with, it has good speed, decent armor, turns well and can hold at least one small catapult weapon which you can arm before it loses speed. It will also outrun any other ships except for a Clipper, Yacht or Sloop.
